What support do you offer?
As an educational specialist, I assist student-athletes with graduation strategy, NCAA preparation, Canadian university admissions, and comprehensive transcript assessments to build a customized academic and athletic roadmap.
Who is eligible?
My focus is primarily on student-athletes in high school, from Grade 9 to graduation. Starting the process early ensures more flexibility, though I am available to support older students or those earlier in their journey as well.
How can you help us navigate complex NCAA eligibility requirements?
NCAA eligibility rules can be detailed and change over time. I help families interpret the current academic requirements, review course selections and transcripts, and plan a clear pathway that keeps the student on track. While I cannot guarantee eligibility, I can explain what the NCAA is looking for and help you make informed academic decisions at each step.
Is admission to specific universities or colleges promised?
No, institutions alone determine their admissions. I strengthen a student’s profile through rigorous academic preparation and requirement clarity, but the final acceptance rests with the school.
Are athletic scholarships a certainty?
No, scholarship offers are the sole choice of the athletic department and university. My role ensures a student remains academically eligible for these awards, though I do not control funding.
Do you scout talent or contact college coaches?
No. My expertise is strictly in academic and educational consulting. I do not function as a recruiter or represent athletes in negotiations with coaching staff.
Can I work with you if I live outside of British Columbia?
While my primary expertise is centered on the BC graduation system, I welcome clients from other provinces and can offer virtual support to BC residents who are currently living elsewhere.
When is the ideal time to start?
The sooner we begin, the better. Establishing an academic foundation in Grade 9 for NCAA or Grade 10 for Canadian schools provides the widest range of options. However, regardless of your current grade, it is always worth refining your plan.
What is needed for our first meeting together?
I require a full, up-to-date transcript and any available graduation reports or current schedules in advance of a meeting. Providing your specific university goals and questions in advance ensures our session is focused and productive.
What is the duration of an initial consult?
A total of two hours is dedicated to your first session. This includes ninety minutes of my independent research on your files and a thirty-minute video call to review the findings. This also includes one follow-up email for additional queries.
Is a physical report provided?
Yes, every client receives a detailed summary of tailored recommendations.
Should parents be present?
Definitely. I find that involving parents in the consultation creates a unified approach to these significant academic decisions.
Is my family's privacy protected?
Yes. All client data and personal transcripts are kept strictly confidential with secure protocols, unless disclosure is legally mandated or specifically authorized by the client.
What is the meeting frequency?
This varies based on personal needs. Some clients find a single roadmap session sufficient, while others schedule regular check-ins to monitor progress and adjust course selections.
Do you assist with Canadian post-secondary entry?
Yes. I offer guidance on local requirements, program vetting, and the timing of applications. While I guide the process, the student remains responsible for submitting the final application.
Do you accept students who are not into sports?
Yes. While I have a niche in athletics, the core services of transcript auditing and post-secondary planning are highly beneficial for any student aiming for a successful university transition.
